Hypothyroidism Symptoms Checklist Must Have!
Having a good hypothyroidism symptoms checklist would be very helpful if you think you may be suffering from this illness. Hypothyroidism can be serious if left untreated. While many people can control this disease just by changing their diet and adding supplements if you leave this untreated there is a strong possibility of having to go under the knife if left alone too long. This is why you absolutely need to be aware of each and every symptom.
The following checklist of symptoms should be used as only a guideline. You should really seek medical help if you believe if you are suffering from this disease.
Fatigue – Many people suffer from frequent fatigue with hypothyroidism. This is just not a common level of fatigue but rather a more persistent level of fatigue.
Always cold – if you are always cold regardless of the surrounding temperature then perhaps you are suffering from hypothyroidism. This is caused by the slowing of your metabolism.
Inability to concentrate – If you are finding yourself without any ability to concentrate then this is also another strong indicator. The inability to concentrate is caused because your brain is not getting enough fuel in order to function properly.
Abnormal Weight Gain – If you experience a rapid weight gain with no change to your diet or exercise regimen then you are most likely suffering from this ailment. When you combine any of the above symptoms then this is one of the strongest indicators of having this disease.
Enlargement of the thyroid – This is also called Goiter and when you have reached this stage seeking medical treatment immediately is absolutely required.
Clearly if you are suffering from at least 3 of the above symptoms then you have a very strong indication of having this disease.
Fortunately this disease can be controlled with small adjustments to your diet. This is a very reversible disease which is the good news. The bad news is that if you let this disease slide and do not treat it then you could suffer from a heart attack or other such drastic side effects.
I would highly recommend you use the above checklist as a start to get in control of your life again. While certainly this list should not be used as a definitive guide to diagnose yourself with this ailment it can be used as a way to isolate what you may be suffering from so you can narrow down the various blood tests that may be required.
Please be sure to get in control of what is going on in your life before you really start to suffer from any of the more severe side effects. While these severe side effects are very rare they can happen.
